Welcome back to another episode of The Midas Touches - after a long summer of action on the flat, the jumps season is back in full force and we know you guys are as excited as we are…
No doubt, it can be difficult to get back into the swing of things after such a long hiatus, so we’ve made it easy for you here at The Midas Touches - this episode is your one-stop-shop to all the key talking points in every division with a view to the Cheltenham Festival in March 2024.
We are also happy to welcome back form study expert and jumps fanatic, Jamie Radford, onto the podcast. He has been doing some excellent work on his Oddschecker blog recently and rarely misses when it comes to the jumps, so it is great to have him for this episode and he has some very interesting insights into the new season.
If you want something other than the Constitution Hill / El Fabiolo double that other podcasts will offer, then this is your place - we are never afraid to take on the shorties and this jumps season will be no different.
On that note, there will be plenty more content coming over the course of the 2023-24 jumps season, so tune in to The Midas Touches for all the hottest takes to stay ahead of the game (and, importantly, the bookies).
Finally, as an added bonus for listeners, we have a couple of selections for the racing at Cheltenham this weekend, so make sure to listen to the end to catch those.

- Novice Hurdlers
- Novice Chasers
- 2m Hurdlers
- 3m Hurdlers

Welcome back to another week of The Midas Touches.
In horse racing terms, it does not get much bigger than this weekend as Epsom is gearing up to host the Derby for yet another year.
That’s right, the 3rd and 4th English Classics of the season are on this weekend and, with Tris and Charlie having picked the winner for the last English Classic at 16/1, history suggests they might have something up their sleeve…
Listen to this week’s episode for a full run down of the field for the Derby as well as tips from elsewhere on the Epsom card for both the Friday and Saturday.

Guineas Review, Lockinge Preview and Tips at Newbury!!
Thursday May 18, 2023
Thursday May 18, 2023
Fresh off the back of a monumental Guineas Festival, the lads are back again to tackle some top-class flat racing.
With winners at 8/1 and 16/1 on Guineas weekend, Tris & Charlie could hardly be in better form coming into this weekend and, for those that follow The Midas Touches Twitter account, that has not been going badly either.
Saturday sees Group 1 action from Newbury in the form of the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes where Charlie seems more than willing to take on the market principals and tip up one at a big price. Elsewhere on the card, Tris makes it plain that he is VERY confident on one of his selections… tune in to this week’s episode to find out exactly who!

Auguste Rodin, Tahiyra and more...Guineas Preview 2023!!
Wednesday May 03, 2023
Wednesday May 03, 2023
It goes without saying that we can barely contain our excitement here at The Midas Touches as Guineas weekend fast approaches…
That’s right, the first English Classics of the season are officially upon us and we now only have three more sleeps to wait (that’s if you are even able to sleep…). Yes, King Charles is not the only one who is being crowned this weekend… we will also see (perhaps more importantly, depending on your views on the monarchy & horse racing) the coronation of this year’s 2,000 & 1,000 Guineas winners, but WHO is the big question…
Catch this episode for the lads’ selections in the two feature races of Saturday & Sunday, and a run through of all the rest of the big action from the three days of the Newmarket meeting.
Please like & share this episode to get the word out and make sure that everyone is clued up for a MASSIVE weekend of horse racing.
See you next time (hopefully with deeper pockets)!
XOXO,
The Midas Touches

Grand National Review, Greenham Stakes Preview and AP McCoy Grilled?!
Thursday Apr 20, 2023
Thursday Apr 20, 2023
The jumps may be well and truly done but that won’t stop the boys talking about the topic that is dominating racing at this moment which is, of course, the animal rights protests at Aintree for the Grand National - safe to say, Tris & Charlie have passionate views on the subject.
Away from the big talking points (and there are many), there is some stellar action from Newbury as we ramp up to the Guineas in now only two weeks time.
The feature race of the weekend will be the Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes and listen out for a strong selection from Tris in the Spring Cup.
Please continue to spread the word about The Midas Touches by liking and sharing if you are enjoying the podcast!
